Frequently Asked Questions

Testimonials

Q: Why should I board my pet?

A: Boarding your pet is a great option to ensure that your pet receives quality, specialized care when you are not able to provide it. Boarding allows you to feel good about your travels without worrying about your pet being alone or getting into mischief. We treat every pet as if it were our own, and we love seeing their excitement upon each return visit.

Q: How much attention will my pet receive?

A: Because the owners live on site, they are able to spend ample time in the resort with the guests, including outdoor play time in the large, grassy lawns. This includes mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Q: How much socializing occurs between different families of pets?

A: Pets from the same household enjoy playtime together. Although playtime is interactive with and supervised by the staff, there is a risk of injury when pets unfamiliar with each other engage. Therefore, our policy is not to mix pets from different households.

Q; What if my pet becomes ill or is injured during his or her stay?

A: You or your designated representative will be notified of any illness or injury that occurs during your pet's stay. If the injury or illness requires a visit to the vet, we will assist you or your representative to expedite the process for your pet's welfare.

Q: Does my pet have to be current on all vaccinations?

A: For the safety of all of our guests, we cannot accept any pets that are not current on their vaccinations, which must have been administered by a veterinarian at least TWO WEEKS prior to your pet's stay. You will be asked to provide copies of current vaccination records or have your vet email or fax the records to us prior to your arrival. Dogs* must be vaccinated for Distemper/Parvo, Rabies and Bordetella, while cats must be current on Feline Distemper and Rabies vaccinations. Our fax: (989) 772-0468.

*Beginning January 2019, all dogs must be vaccinated against canine influenza. We encourage you to vaccinate early to protect your pet. All vaccinations must be administered at least TWO WEEKS prior to your pet's stay.

Q: What items can my pet bring along?

A: Please bring your pet's food from home as well as any treats you'd like them to enjoy. We encourage you to send along your pet's preferred blanket and toy(s), labeled with your pet's full name in indelible marker. We will provide clean, comfortable bedding if you choose not to send along a blanket or if your pet's bedding becomes soiled—and we'll wash that bedding for you!

Q: My pet has special needs. Can you provide accommodations?

A: We are usually able to accommodate sight impairment, deafness, arthritis, mild heart problems, etc. If you have any questions or concerns about how your pet would fare, call us at (989) 773-8000 for a tour. We are happy to talk about our resort and whether its environment is a good fit for your special needs pet. If your pet takes medications, it is helpful if you prepare each day's dosages and label them with your pet's name and the time (AM or PM) of administration.

Q: Do I need to make a reservation?

A: Yes! Reservations are required. We encourage you to call us at (989) 773-8000 as soon as you finalize your travel plans as certain times throughout the year book up far in advance. We recommend reserving 4 months prior to holidays and 1-2 months in advance for summer weekends.

Q: Can I make a reservation online?

A: So we can best understand your needs and wishes, please call our office at (989) 773-8000 to make reservations. You are encouraged to contact us using the Contact Us page if you have general questions and we will respond as quickly as possible.
